Survival Empire: Episode 2 Night on Black Mountain

We pick the last brutally cold weekend of the winter to go on a 2 night backpacking expedition up Black Mountain. Shelter building, and frozen water pumps ahead.

Afternoon Hike

Its been a fantastic week! The first nice weather of the spring and its still winter. Dad and I took a mini hiking trip on Friday afternoon and found an incredible "secret" spot. Where is it? I'm not telling!

Episode 1: Pilot Knob

I found myself with a sunny afternoon off today so I decided to take a run up a mountain.

In this episode: Vine swinging, spear throwing, and I declare war on trees.

Episode .5 Whiteface

Just me and the parents. We cross country skied up the veterans memorial highway to the top of Whiteface Mountain. I learned two things; 1. Cross country skiing is the tool of the devil, and 2. My dad can still kick my butt.

My first winter hike. Last time I went into the woods with seven people we didn't make it out and the rangers had to find us. So, I went hiking alone. I was fine.
